Here I am—showing up. Because I promised myself I would.

On January 11th, my life changed.
I sat in front of eight strangers and said out loud what I wanted to do with the next chapter of my life.
And do you know what happened?
Everything. And nothing.
No instant fireworks. No immediate transformation. But inside? Everything shifted.
Because the moment you say something out loud, you make it real.
That day, I made a commitment: Show up every single day for a year.
No waiting for the perfect post. No overthinking. Just showing up—sharing what I’ve learned over 28 years of raising money and inspiring others to take action.
Today is Day 43, and I almost didn’t post. I told myself:
“I don’t have anything important to say today.”
“I’ll do it later when inspiration strikes.”
And that’s when it hit me—this is exactly how people quit. And, more specifically, how I might quit.
It starts with one skipped day. Then another. And before you know it, you’ve lost momentum.
Fundraising works the same way. You don’t need the perfect donor, the perfect ask, or the perfect moment. You just need to show up and do the work.
So here I am—showing up. Because I promised myself I would.
And if you’re struggling to take action today, this is your sign to do it anyway.
